Career Story

From high school I went to Mount Allison University. For two weeks. It was the first time I had been away from home, and I had become very homesick. I worked as a pizza delivery driver and pizza maker for about 5 years, and determined (after much encouragement from my parents) to go back to school. I went to Mohawk College and got a 2 year diploma in accounting. From there I began working from the school board and continued schooling in the evenings. Over the course of a number of years, I achieved an honours business degree, an master of business degree, and earned a professional accounting designation. The attainment of these qualifications and the experience gained over time allowed me to progress within the school board as follows:

1999 to 1999 - Internal Audit Officer 1999 to 2001 - Accounting Supervisor 2002 to 2009 - Senior Manager, Financial Services 2009 to present - Executive Superintendent, Corporate Services
