Job Description
When I was in 8th grade, selecting the right high school was a big step. It was also the time I needed to start thinking about which courses I would mainly be interested in my upper years (gr. 11 to gr. 12). I knew the first two years of high school would go by quickly so it was important to take my studies and extra-curricular seriously. Being "involved" when transitioning into high school from gr. 8 was also important but at the same time follow your passion. I always enjoyed my science and math courses, so made sure I had the right mindset coming into high school. I also loved swimming so used to go for my lessons outside of class which helped me balance my time. In high school, I was also very involved in the community volunteering and took any opportunities I could to give back to the community.

Career Story
As I loved biology, chemistry, and my math courses - I started my program in Biochemistry at University of Waterloo. After 1st year, I felt that I wasn't in the right program as the courses were very micro-level, and my interest was more on how science impacts businesses, so I switched into Science and Business program with specialization in biology.
I had a co-op program (which I highly recommend to anyone) that helped me get my foot in the door to work with companies. My first co-op was at Blackberry, followed by many others.
I most recently worked at Alert Labs which helps conserve water for large condos and multi residential homes. The courses I took in my high school and university were super helpful, as I understand the science behind how our product works. I enjoy my work too as I worked directly with our customers to help conserve water!
