The electrical engineer my son and I spoke with at WalterFedy was great. The openness for sharing why he chose the field, high school classes that he took, why he loves his job, and the opportunities sparked excitement. My son left that conversation and said ‘this is what I want to do.’

I learned that there are so many more options that what I previously thought there was.

Talking to professionals in the field and making those connections at such a young age is so beneficial . It also helped me as a parent to understand my daughter’s needs and wants more so that I can assist her more effectively.

We recommend the event to anyone in high school or grade 7-8. The number of employers that came out to the event was very impressive. Representatives were knowledgeable and helpful. We learned a lot from them.

It was great being a part of the community and getting to interact with so many great folks, especially younger individuals who are just exploring what they want to do with their careers. It was a good chance to also connect with other organizations and get a feel for what is happening in our local economy.

I learned that there are many pathways to get my child where she wants to get. Even if she doesn't know right now, it won't be too late as she takes more courses and eventually decides on one career.
