Career Story

After high school, I went to the University of Guelph and pursued my Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Public Policy. During my time there, I volunteered at many different organizations in the hopes to understand what career I would most enjoy (and be good at!) after graduating. One of those volunteer positions was as an HR volunteer at a maximum security forensic mental health hospital. I immediately fell in love with the world of Human Resources - helping both individuals and Companies to be successful - and decided that I would pursue that career path.

I completed my Masters in Industrial Relations and Human Resources at the University of Toronto immediately after graduating from U of G.

After I graduated, I worked at the University of Toronto's Human Resources and Equity department. I was commuting over 4 hours a day and decided that I wanted to look for a new job closer to home.

That's when I started working for my current employer, TreeHouse Foods, as a Human Resources Manager for a small manufacturing plant that produced soup and broth. I grew my career at TreeHouse Foods - learning about food manufacturing while travelling often across six different states in the US (mostly New York, Pennsylvania and Illinois) to support different plants - until I was promoted into my current role of Director, Human Resources.
