Communications Coordinator

Volunteer Waterloo Region

Job Description

As a communications coordinator I support my organization by managing our social media platforms and responding to the inquiries of the volunteers and other organizations that we support in the Waterloo Region. Additionally, my job involves creating ways of making volunteering more accessible to the community. For example, assisting newcomers that are trying to learn English get involved in our community by helping them find volunteers opportunities.

As well, part of my job is to teach others what volunteering is, and the ways we can volunteer in our community. For example, you do not need to be a part of an organization to help others. Even helping our peers with homework questions or helping our neighbors can be considered volunteering!

Lastly, my job involves working as a team with other staff members to reach the goals of our organization. It is also very important to treat each other with kindness and respect so that we can work together in a healthy and positive environment.
