Career Story

To be honest, I was not sure what I wanted to do right after high school. Once graduating high school I took a two year General Business Diploma program at Conestoga College. I held different management positions at a department store and Sub restaurant. I also worked for an accounting company. About 8 years later I decided I wanted to go back to school for the Early Childhood Education. I took the 2 year Early Childhood Education Diploma program at Conestoga College. During my time in the program I participated in different field placement opportunities at child care centres and a kindergarten classroom with the WRDSB. Once graduating, I started my career at RisingOaks Early learning and have worked in classrooms with several different age groups. Infant, Toddler, Preschool and some school age. 5 years I stepped into the role of Assistant Supervisor. I have been with RisingOaks for the past 13 years.
