Director Fundraising & Communications
My job is to tell the story of the hundreds of refugees who come to Kitchener Waterloo as they escape from their home countries where war, violence, persecution, and poverty have driven them away from all they have ever known. Despite landing in KW with nothing, these amazingly strong people eventually grow to be important contributors to our community. They do this not only because they are strong and resilient - but because they are helped in getting a place to live, a job to earn money, and lessons to learn our language. As I tell their stories and inform and educate the public, I raise resources (money and supports) to help in the work of getting these families and individuals established in our community.
