Project Manager, Transportation EngineerRJ Burnside
I design the pipes that are built underneath the road. The pipes that bring the water to your home and the pipes that collect the water from the rain, your sinks and toilets!
Entrepreneurship (Julianna Candle Co.)
I create products that help people feel good about themselves and that are good for the environment. Being an entrepreneur is about giving value to others, building a community, and creating something that reflects the values you have in your life and sharing with others

Attended and graduated university at Western University in the Civil Engineering (Structural) program. I decided to add a 5th year to my program (typically a 4 year program) for load management. It made it easier to focus on the work and reduce my stress.
I got a co-op position with IBI Group in Toronto during school, which is where I was first introduced to IBI.
After my co-op position, I was offered a full-time position in the Waterloo office. I had never lived in Waterloo before but decided that I would accept the offer because I liked working for IBI and had a good experience. I also knew that Waterloo is a good city to live in.
I first started as a Project Coordinator and after a couple of years, I started getting more responsibility on our projects. I learned a lot about consulting quickly and became more comfortable with our projects. Now I'm a Project Manager on a number of projects across Waterloo Region.
