Job Description

I work in Human Resources for a tech company in Waterloo. My job is to support the business as well as the employees. My main focus is the HR Programs at our business, which includes; benefits (health/dental, fringe benefits, employee recognition, company swag), compensation (how employees are paid), performance management (how to track employee performance, employee development and how to manage if someone isn't doing their job), employee engagement (are employees happy? are there concerns?), health & safety (are people safe while at work? COVID protocols).

Career Story

After I completed university, I took a year off to work to decide what I really wanted to do. I wasn't completely sure at that point and had lots of opportunities I needed to make a decision on (teacher's college, Masters in Counselling, working for the university). After working for a year, I decided to pursue the business world and completed by post-graduate certificate in HR.
