Self-EmployedJob Description
Have you ever wondered where the chicks come from for the farmers? Or the eggs that hatch into chicks? How about what chickens eat? Did you know Ontario needs about 1 million tons of chicken feed to feed the chickens?
My job was to manage a sales team, and get the right product from the farmer, to the processing plant at the right time.
My team of 7 sales people and myself were the key contact between our company, Maple Leaf Foods, and the chicken and Turkey farmers in the province of Ontario. All the chicken you eat at McDonalds, or the chicken you buy in stores, the turkey you eat at Christmas and Thanksgiving, are all grown on farms in Ontario- many within 30 minutes of this school!
I worked with all these industries - transportation needing truck drivers and mechanics, farm owners and workers to take care of the livestock, veterinarians, sales people, logistics planners and schedulers- and these are all good, steady, well paying jobs.
Let me tell you about my job- I’ll share what I did, how much money I made, how much other careers made and skills and experiences needed to work in this field. I think you’ll find it interesting.
