Job Description

Responsible for the performance of 51 long-term care homes across the Province of Ontario, including performance under the domains of finance, people (staff), customer (residents and families) and quality. This is accomplished through a team of Regional Directors who work directly with the homes driving accountability and actions geared towards success.

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President and indirectly to the CEO.

Career Story

I went directly from high school into the workforce. This was a common path when I graduated (1983), unlike today. I started a job at a long term care home, with my current company in 1988 in the role of receptionist. I realized very quickly that I would like to start a career in this sector.

I expressed my interest in continuing to grow and develop, and had the good fortune of being part of a very supportive organization. I have held roles with increasing responsibility in my 33 years with Revera. These include:

  • Receptionist
  • Office Manager
  • Environmental Services Manager
  • Executive Director
  • Operations Support Director
  • Regional Director
  • Vice President, Operations (current)

In addition to change in positions, I have also pursued education opportunities since starting with my organization. These include:

  • HR certification (Conestoga College)
  • Administrator certification (Canadian Healthcare Association)
  • Gerontology Degree (Ryerson University)
