Career Story

From highschool I enrolled in college for a Vet technician but starting working at the Delta Meadowvale as a Houseperson and quickly fell in love with the hotel world. I didn't complete college realizing that was not the direction I wanted to take. I told my leaders that I was interested in learning more about the industry and I was fortunate enough to be put through training programs that helped me advance my career, including a six sigma program, leadership, conflict resolution, contract and union negotiations, dirt school, diversity in the work place, sales and more. That training coupled with promotions provided me opportunities to manage/work in every department within the hotel allowing me to find my way into the GM position. Later I did attend McMaster for a diploma in Marketing with a digital concentration.
