Find the path that's right for you

Making choices around your future education and career options can be overwhelming. We offer events and resources that can help you find direction.

How do I get started?

To help youth and their parents better understand career options and resources in our community, the BEP began organizing "Explore Your Future", Waterloo Region's parent/student career expo, in 2017. The event has grown each year to include over 75 local employers and community organizations and 900+ students and parents.

In light of the covid-19 pandemic, Explore Your Future will be offered as a career speakers series in 2021, running February 10, February 24, March 10, and March 24.

I remember participating in the ZOOM Career Day in high school and it had an important impact on me deciding to study business in university.

I love that the BEP connects our classroom to authentic learning opportunities from the community. Students are excited when they can ask questions of experts from the "real world". Teachers benefit from the up-to-date information provided by community partners.

We want to help educate students that Toyota is a place where you can start to build a long-term career right out of school.

Participating in Explore Your Future will help me in the future because it gave me a broader perception of all the career opportunities in the technology industry, and the local opportunities for students my age.

—Student

Talking to professionals in the field and making those connections at such a young age is so beneficial . It also helped me as a parent to understand my daughter’s needs and wants more so that I can assist her more effectively.

—Parent

We recommend Explore Your Future to anyone in high school or grade 7-8. The number of employers that came out to the event was very impressive. Representatives were knowledgeable and helpful. We learned a lot from them.
